Dear parents and guardians,
I am sure you will have heard about the death of Pope Francis today, following a recent illness. I trust I speak on behalf of the school when I say that we were deeply saddened to hear this news.
Pope Francis, originally named Jorge Mario Bergoglio, became Pope in 2013. He chose Francis as his papal name in honour of St Francis of Assisi. He will be remembered for many things including his concern for the poor and marginalised, much like St Francis of Assisi.
We will remember Pope Francis in our prayers and thoughts in the coming days.
