You are very welcome to St Francis of Assisi Primary School. My name is Johanne Dunne and I was appointed Principal in September 2022. I am enjoying becoming immersed in school life at St Francis of Assisi and developing relationships with the school community.  

 St. Francis of Assisi Primary School, which opened in 2008, caters for boys and girls from Junior Infants to 6th Class. It is a Catholic school, where everything we do is inspired by Christian values. Our school is inclusive and we welcome children from families of all faiths and none. In our school we have developed a strong and caring whole school community, which has helped us grow from strength to strength. We actively encourage participation and partnership with our parents and guardians.  

The atmosphere in St Francis of Assisi is safe, calm and caring. Our staff ensure our children are at the centre of everything we do and we have a strong emphasis on pupil voice. The children are involved in many committees and groups within the school (Green Schools and Student Council) which help the children develop a sense of ownership and responsibility.  

As a parent myself, I understand the trust that parents need to have when they choose a school for their child. I understand the importance of enabling all children to reach their academic potential while also to develop in a holistic way.  

At St Francis of Assisi, we follow the national Primary School Curriculum as laid down by the Department of Education. We provide a stimulating and challenging educational environment, ensuring that each of our pupils reaches his or her full potential.
